These festive animal ornaments are based on traditional folk designs. My easy-to-stitch adaptation features popular woodland animals embellished with bright felt flowers and leaves.
All the ornaments are made the same way—once you've made one, you're a pro and are ready to quickly assemble the rest of the collection. Both the bright colors and generous size of the finished ornaments make them stand out on the tree. Gift each family member their favorite animal ornament. These unbreakable heirlooms are sure to be enjoyed for years to come.
Templates are included at full-size and do not require a seam allowance. This pattern is ideal for a confident beginner.

Materials Needed
12" (30.5cm) x 18" (46cm) Sheets of 20%-30% wool/80%-70% rayon Woolfelt® National Nonwovens*
Dark Brown (Chocolate) , Medium Brown (Peat Moss), Beige (Champagne), White (Antique White), Red (Bright Red), Orange (Dark Orange), Blue (Norwegian), Light Blue (Blue Snow), Green (Chartreuse)
Embroidery Floss: Black, Brown, Green, Yellow
Glass Beads, size 6/E (for the eyes): Assorted Colors
13 Die-cut Felt Flowers* 7/8" (2cm) & 5/8" (1.6cm): Orange, Red and Blue
* Felt flowers are easily cut on a Sizzix Big Shot machine with a small flower shape cutting die. If you're not interested in making that kind of investment, there are many great Etsy sellers who offer mixed bags of small felt flowers—or, substitute felt, plastic, or wooden flower buttons

Chalk or Pilot Frixion pen (you'll need an iron to make the thermal sensitive ink disappear) to layout the embroidery design
